It felt great to stick my toes in the salt water once again this afternoon. It was almost a week since the last time, and that is far too long in my book.
Earlier today, I had some serious lawn work to do. I managed to start around 8:30 AM and was finished with the main mowing by 9:40 AM. After that I took my time trimming, weeding, and blowing away the debris. In our garage I have a comfortable chair that I use to recover when switching tools. The garage usually has a great breeze blowing through it, and relaxing in my chair gets me out of the sun for a few minutes while I have water.
I find that it is far better to stay warm until you are done working. It you go inside and cool off, you are done. I can feel my muscles seizing up in the cool air. If I stay outside until I am done working, I am fine.
Since we have been up in the mountains of Virginia, there was some catching up on paperwork this afternoon. Our mountain trip gave us a little break from the humidity, but we only got to sleep with the windows open for a couple of nights before the humidity found us.
Once all the paperworks was finished around 5 PM, we head off to the beach. I wanted to test a new camera that I got to replace my dead Nikon pocket camera. It was a great pleasure to once again ride across the Emerald Isle bridge and leave civilization behind. We first went to the Western Regional Beach Access, but it did not have the kind of light that I wanted for photos so we decided to grab a sandwich at the new sub and pizza shop near Portofino's. The cheesesteaks were very good so we will probably be back to try their pizza.
We then drove over to a friend's home in Deerhorn Dunes. We parked our car walked the few blocks to the beach. There was a light breeze blowing out on the beach. We walked a little, and I had some great light to test my new camera. It was hard to leave, but we had to pick up a few groceries.
After that dose of salt water on feet, I feel like my batteries have been charged, and I can go to work without any difficulty tomorrow.
