As soon as we started walking through the parking lot of the Islander over on Emerald Isle this afternoon, we noticed some live music coming from next door. It turned out to be the Emerald Isle Beach Jive after Five.
We got there after the band started playing but the Emerald Isle website lists the band as the Conch Stew. We were attending attending a "Business after hours" Chamber of Commerce event next door at the Islander so I could not devote full attention to the band.
I could tell that the crowd at the Beach Jive were having a good time. I know that we had a great time and enjoyed their music.
Bluewater GMAC and Bogue Banks Beach Gear put together a very nice event for the monthly Chamber of Commerce Business after Hours. There was a tent on the lawn by the beach at the Islander. Great food and lots of local business people were in attendance.
His Honor, the mayor of Emerald Isle, Art Schools, was in attendance. Woody Warren and Sherrell Futral, the owners of the Bluewater organization were in attendance along with Carole and Cameron Warren, the owners of Bogue Banks Beach Gear and Rentals.
This a web album of pictures that I took of both events.
It was a great night to be standing on the beach enjoying music from next door and a wonderful catered meal from Class Act Catering.
I think we are in for a spell of fantastic weather, just in time for Memorial Day weekend.
I can hardly wait to get on the water.
