A summer morning in November

I will verify that the weather does not get any better than this. In fact this might be the best time change I have ever seen if for no other reason than the weather.

When I got outside this morning, I immediately turned around to go get the boat keys and the two small bags that I carry on my trips.

In under five minutes I was in the middle of the White Oak River looking towards Swansboro and taking the picture I have posted.

There are a number of summer mornings that I have gone fishing when the air temperature was much cooler than this morning's 72F.  Then there is the water temperature which is hanging in there at 68.4F.

We had such a nice high tide that a few of the PVC pipes that serve as channel markers from Bluewater Cove out to the White Oak were under water. There was over 5 ft of water in a couple of spots.

A day like today is a severe test of your faith.  It is going to be hard, but I am headed for church.  I will hope that we see a few more of these days.

It is hard to believe I was on the river in November in shorts, and I still felt warm.  Of course there are not many Halloween nights even at the coast when your air conditioning starts running.

From now through the first week of January, every day that we can steal from winter is a huge victory.

If some of that Denver snow landed on my driveway it would melt quickly.

Actually I think that I can hear my green tomatoes growing.
