One of the largest sport fishing tournaments in the country is heading to the Crystal Coast June 6-13 in Morehead City. It has been held since 1957. Winning game fish will be determined by weight and daily weigh ins are scheduled at approximately 5pm on the Morehead waterfront. The NC Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores will host a fishing school March 14. Experts in a variety of fishing techniques will present workshops throughout the day. Five sessions of instruction plus prize drawings, giveaways and a catered lunch are included with registration. Sixth Annual Gordie McAdams Speckled Trout Fishing Tournament

This fishing tournament is sponsored by Emerald Isle Parks and Rec and The Reel Outdoors. It will run from October 18 to November 29. Registration is FREE. Pre-registration is required and the deadline is Wednesday, October 15 at 5:30 pm. All trout must be caught on foot(surf, pier, inlet, sound) from Fort Macon to Emerald Isle. NO BOATS. The official weigh in station is The Reel Outdoors, 7802 Emerald Drive. See complete rules on the back of the registration form which may be picked up at The Reel Outdoors or the EI Parks and Rec. Community Center, 7500 Emerald Drive.
